After only six months on the talk show, Amanda Seales has announced that she is leaving Fox’s The Real. The fifth co-host that joined in 2019 chose not to renew her contract with the morning talk show.
“My contract is up at The Real and I didn’t renew it,” she said. “I’ve arrived because my contract is up at The Real and I did not renew it because it doesn’t feel good to my soul to be at a place where I can not speak to my people the way they need to be spoken to and where the people that are speaking to me in despairing ways are not being handled.”
Seales, 48, also quelled rumors that there was contention between her and her co-hosts Tamera Mowery-Housley, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love and Adrienne Houghton.
But, she did admit that there was an issue with the higher ups allowing her to express herself on issues concerning of inequality and racism.
“I’m not at a space where as a full black woman I can have my voice and my co-workers also have their voices and where the people at the top are not respecting the necessity for black voices to be at the top.”
A representative of The Real has not responded.
