Former Officer Chauvin Finally Charged, Medical Examiner Suggests George Floyd Died From Pre-Existing Health Condition

Hennepin County attorney Mike Freeman has finally brought charges against former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd, as announced on Friday. Chauvin is being charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Although Chauvin has been charged, the medical examiner has released information that negates Chauvin’s guilt in the incident.

According to the medical examiner’s autopsy, he suggests that Floyd died from a pre-existing health condition and not from “traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.”

In the meantime, a curfew has been implemented for Minneapolis, banning travel in the city from 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. The National Guard has been employed to enforce the curfew and quell protests.
