Houston Texans’ Deshaun Watson To Raise Funds For Bartenders Via Twitch Jackbox Games

Deshaun Watson, a premiere athlete known for his magical ability on the football field, has established an even bigger presence off field. On April 29th, the Houston Texans Quarterback will host a Jackbox Games live on Miller Lite’s Twitch channel to raise money for the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program for COVID-19 relief.

Joining Watson will be play-by-play broadcaster and Sirius XM host Scott Cole, along with full-time Twitch streamer and YouTuber VernNotice, also known as VERN.  While enjoying some fun, the trio will raise awareness for the “Virtual Tip Jar”, an online spreadsheet that contains service workers’ names and where they are employed, along with their Paypal or Venmo information so you can pay them directly.

They will also use the platform to ask fans to donate what they can to the Bartender Emergency Assistance Program to “assist qualified bartenders, bar backs, and bar servers” who are experiencing financial hardship.

Located out of a studio in Chicago, IL Jackbox Games are available on various digital platforms, such as multi-gamer platform Twitch, where as many as eight players can play at a time.

If you are not a player, don’t worry, you can also join the games as an audience member in which most Jackbox Games support an audience up to 10,000 people.

Observers of the game can still influence the outcome.  Fans can interact on the game by voting on funniest answers, best drawings, and most believable fibs, to name a few topics.

This is not Watson’s first rodeo when it comes to charitable kindness. As a rookie, Watson hand-delivered his first game check to three Houston cafeteria workers impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

He would later go on to establish the Deshaun Watson Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that assists with education, health, housing and various other charitable causes that support families and youth in under-resourced communities.

Fans aged 21 and up can tune in to the virtual event on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
