Most people have been trying to stay away from the hospitals during this time where public health concerns are growing. But, rapper Drake couldn’t avoid going to the hospital last week after he sustained a foot injury.
Drake, who just recently was in the news for hitting a billion streams on Tik Tok for his hit song “Toosie Slide”, revealed that he had to go to the hospital on the COVID-19 relief special Stronger Together, Tous Ensemble that aired on Sunday, April 26.
The virtual benefit served to raise funds and awareness about the challenges of being a frontline worker during the pandemic. Besides Drake, special guests included Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams, Alessia Cara, Michael Bublé, among many other Canadian celebrities.
He thanked the hospital employees that were courageous enough to treat his injury amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I want to send all my love, all my gratitude, all my support out to the frontline workers, the first responders, the healthcare workers,” he said in a video filmed at his beautiful mansion in Canada. “Just to see the morale, the smiles, the high spirits on everyone’s face that I got to encounter in that situation despite everything going on…[their] the glue holding us all together.”
The Scorpion rapper is currently working on a new album while quarantined.
