In the spirit of football, popular chicken wing establishment Buffalo Wild Wings is promising customers free wings if the Super Bowl goes into overtime this Sunday, Feb. 2.
The food chain has done this marketing campaign before for the 2017 Super Bowl and it was a success.
“Football fans love to have fun with our established connection to overtime, tweeting at us any time a game goes to extra time,” Buffalo Wild Wings marketing chief Seth Freeman said. “That was taken to the next level last year when free wings were on the line, so we knew we had to bring this program back.”
If the NFL championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs goes into overtime, Buffalo Wild Wings will give away free wings on February 17.
Customers will receive a free order of a five to six count chicken wings that can be traditional or boneless. The free wings will be available for dine-in only between the hours of 4pm-7pm.
About 1.4 billion wings will be consumed this Super Bowl Sunday, according to the National Chicken Council.
The Inspire Brands wing franchise has been providing chicken wings for the biggest sports games in the U.S. since 1982.
