Rapper YG was arrested on suspicion of robbery early on Friday morning, just a couple of days before his highly anticipated performance honoring slain rapper Nipsey Hussle at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department served YG a warrant during the arrest that took place in Chatsworth.
YG, born Keenon Jackson, was taken to the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles.
The 29-year-old was booked for suspicion of robbery and held on a $250,000 bail.
The “Go Loko” rapper was later released on Friday. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Further details have not been released on the robbery charges.
YG has been plagued with issues as his entourage have been involved in several run-ins with the L.A. police.
Police raided his Hollywood Hills home in 2019 while the rapper was not even home.
A Cadillac Escalade in YG’s name was involved in a shootout with police in the Compton area, but the rapper was nowhere around when the incident happened.
