They say that success is the best revenge. Well, no one knows that better than singer and rapper CupcakKe, who recently went on Twitter to announce that she had just signed a $8 million deal. Details about who she signed with have yet to be released.
“Your girl just signed a 8 million $ deal,” she posted. “God is sooooooooooo good. I have no words right now.”
The Chicago rapper then took a photo of a Louis Vuitton bag full of money, offering to give $60,000 to one of her fans if they tagged three people.
To top it all off, CupcakKe, government name Elizabeth Harris, used one of the three IG posts documented on her social media to flaunt her recent weight loss.
She messaged Fashion Nova saying “30lbs down – ya girl is back”. In the photo, CupcakKe slays with a black leather jacket and ripped grey jeans with Gucci bag and shoes in tow.
CupcakKe’s recent declarations are a far cry from her mood back in September when she announced her retirement from music on social media because she was upset that fans were gravitating to her raunchy and vulgar lyrics.
In her words, she felt like she was “corrupting” them with her songs. She left fans perplexed as she told them that she was “completely done with music….and want[ed] to be normal again.”
Criticism about her image and overly sexual lyrics became overwhelming. Some fans even made a big deal about her career being overshadowed by pop star Lizzo, who also sings, raps and portrays the image of body positivity and acceptance.
Now, back on the scene, CupcakKe seems to be reinvigorated and gleams with new confidence. It’s clear that the rising star has many plans for 2020.
