Carlos King, the reality TV super producer known for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, and Love & Marriage: Huntsville, is not impressed with the cast of The Real Housewives of Potomac. In a surprisingly candid video, King specifically directed his edgy message to Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant, better known as the “Green-eyed Bandits” by fans.
“Y’all are a big disappointment to your castmates,” King, dubbed the “King of Reality TV,” said in the video. “Robyn, you literally p*ssed in my face.”
The frustrated producer implied that he was blindsided by Dixon’s admission on her podcast, Reasonably Shady, when she revealed that she knew about her husband’s recent infidelity, something that fellow castmate Karen Huger brought up in season 7, episode 15 titled “Indecent Disclosure,” but knowingly withheld that private part of her life until she was “exposed.”
Many fans went on social media to express their disdain at the continuous omission of information and lack of authenticity from the likes of Dixon and Bryant. Since the inception of the Potomac rendition of the Real Housewives franchise, viewers were only privy to Dixon and Bryant’s roles as mothers and had very shallow insight into their romantic relationships and business endeavors.
However, most of their contributions to the show fall along the lines of instigators and exposers of salacious rumors. Needless to say, Dixon, who at one time was a likable and neutral persona amongst the women, has been deemed “Gizelle’s Shadow” with a nasty disposition. Meanwhile, Bryant, arguably one of the most disliked cast members on the show, has comfortably sat back and watched the reputation of her dear friend deteriorate while she autopilots on an anemic storyline.
King called out the current season as being one of the worst since the first season due to the mudslinging antics that festered on accusing the husbands with inappropriate behavior and cheating scandals. “This season was a loss, it wasn’t great,” King added in the video. He went on to give several critiques, even suggesting that Dixon could possibly be facing an exit from the show because of her stunt, and giving Bryant advice about her role as a producer of the series.
While King has strong words for the cast, oddly enough, King is not listed as an executive producer of RHOP, although his longtime collaborator Andy Cohen is credited with the title. Is King just a representative to convince viewers that the show is created or owned by a Black producer? It’s certainly not a good look for the spinoff, which has been accused of colorism, among other issues.
