Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles will be making her iconic debut on the cover of the Wheaties cereal box. The 25-year-old will join the ranks of some of sports’ most prolific athletes, including Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson, Caitlyn Jenner, Mary Lou Retton, Babe Ruth, Larry Bird, Dominique Dawes, Serena Williams, and Stephen Curry.
Biles made the announcement on Twitter.
“I’m honored to share with you that I’m joining a very unique club, landing my first Wheaties box,” Biles said in the video. “It’s especially exciting for me that my Wheaties box is part of their Century Collection Series.”
The Century Collection Series is a three-part series that includes Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali, with Biles being the third and final selection for the series. Biles is one of the most decorated gymnasts, only second to Vitaly Scherbo, winning 32 medals and being named Athlete of the Year by Time Magazine.
Biles has been pretty busy since she famously took a mental health break from the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, ahead of the FBI probe of disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar that pinpoints a billion dollar liability against the Bureau for conducting a botched investigation. In April, the gymnast launched a limited edition collaboration with Athleta, named Athleta Girls x Simone Biles. Biles, who lives in Spring, TX, is currently engaged to Houston Texans safety Jonathan Owens.
Biles continued, “It’s always important to see someone who looks like you succeeding, and to share the title of Wheaties Champion with them means the world to me.”
