‘The Wendy Williams Show’ Bids Farewell After 13 Seasons

The time has come. The Wendy Williams Show is officially ending after 13 seasons in syndication. For some, it’s good riddance, but for many others, the closing of the hot topic-based series marks the end of an era. A spokesperson first revealed details in an exclusive statement to Variety.

“The final original episode of The Wendy Williams Show will air on Friday, June 17th, with a video tribute to the iconic host,” the spokesperson said.

Despite the official announcement, non-bot social media accounts admitted that they slowly retreated from watching the show in 2021 when Williams took a break from hosting to tend to her health. The show was riddled with guest hosts, and although some were entertaining, they didn’t quite fill the purple chair like Ms. Wendy did.

Her diva wigs, spicy banter with producer Suzanne, and occasional visits from her New Jersey parents, were some of the elements that made Williams’ show stand out. Run the gamut and no one could match the sassy mouth of the outspoken, honey-blonde tressed businesswoman. It’s the shade of it all. Williams spoke her mind and said the things that some people were thinking, but not brave enough to say publicly.

The general population seemed to enjoy when she would go after some of the biggest names in entertainment — although it was cringe when she would double down on Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and Aaliyah.

Even still, from radio to television, there’s a special place in our hearts for the savage career of the incomparable Wendy Williams. Here are some great moments from The Wendy Williams Show.
