After all the deflection caused by the multiple shows executive produced by 50 Cent that followed Tariq into college, a childhood Kanan, and then an unrelated accounting of the BMF saga, the popular STARZ franchise is getting back on track with the main characters of the original Power series.
In a new teaser trailer for Power Book IV: Force, Ghost’s former right-hand man Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, returns centerstage in the icy cold streets of Chicago. Egan’s adventures are extensive with what appears to be a new love interest, new enemies, and new obstacles. The cast includes Kris D. Lofton and Anthony Fleming.
Watch the Teaser Below:
The series created by Robert Munic is the fourth installment of a television universe that includes the original Power, started in 2014, Power Book II: Ghost, and Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Meanwhile, the fifth installment, Power Book V: Influence, a series that will take a deeper dive into the inner workings of corrupt politician Rashad Tate, is in the works.
Courtney A. Kemp, who is the original creator of the series, inked a multi-year deal with Netflix in 2020, causing her to allocate showrunner duties for some of the spin-offs to others while she focuses on her new role. The series will include an episode directed by Deon Taylor (Fatale, Meet the Blacks), with Bart Wenrich, Mark Canton, Shana Stein, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Courtney A. Kemp onboard as executive producers.
Power Book IV: Force is set to release at the top of the year, Jan. 9, 2022, on STARZ.
