It wasn’t too long ago that Young Thug went on the Breakfast Club and had that wonderful moment of vindication for all the naysayers who doubted his career longevity and impact. Now, on the heels of releasing his studio album Punk, Young Thug is applying pressure once more with a Von Dutch collaboration.
The Grammy Award-winning artist is set to release a streetwear brand by the end of October. Young Thug and the Christian Audigier fashion house will tour multiple cities across the U.S. and conduct pop-up shops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Beverly Hills.
“This is the start of something much bigger than you know,” said Young Thug.
The collection is intentionally off-beat with cutting edge designs curated to satiate both the streets and pop culture. A pink-themed line will include unisex matching hoodie and jogger sets, puffer jackets, and tees. Custom accessories will consist of footwear, trucker hats, and bowling bags, for example.
“Ultimately, this is a tasteful but eye-grabbing mix of minimalist streetwear staples that best represents Young Thug’s authenticity,” said Ed Goldman, General Manager of Von Dutch US. “As a maestro, he has a point of view all his own when it comes to his music and fashion. Collectively, Von Dutch and Young Thug pushed the envelope and challenged the typical parameters of streetwear to present this off-beat collection.”
