Eva Marcille is the head boss in charge on the BET+ original series All The Queens Men. Created by Saints & Sinners actor Christian Keyes and based on his book Ladies Night, All The Queens Men stars Marcille as club owner Marilyn DeVille, also known as Madam, as she uses cutthroat tactics to climb to the top of the exotic dance nightclub scene.
Madam is tested on all levels as every person that enters her sphere of influence brings their own compacted baggage that includes murder and mayhem. Did we mention that Madam is running an entire club full of male dancers? It’s a refreshing take on gender roles and perception given that society has no issue in exploiting females in any and all capacities of the sex industry.
The first episode of ATQM starts off with a bang with a lingerie clad Madam pacing her room as she questions her “bad bitchness” and all the things on her busy itinerary. The bang doesn’t end there, literally, when an exotic dancer cheats with a housewife to the dismay of her jealous, square husband. With the husband nearing the bedroom where the rendezvous is taking place, the exotic dancer escapes out the window leaving the wife to answer to her angry hubby. The next thing that ensues is next-level shocking and from there the twists and turns of storylines never come back down.
The Kim Coleman selected cast includes The Players Club alumnus Chrystale Wilson, Julia Pace Mitchell, Leslie Sheri, Donny Carrington, Timothy Morris Lane, Duby Maduegbunam, Michael Bolwaire, and Skyh Alvester Black.
Is it worth the watch? Certainly, if not for the addictive storylines that parlay all over the series, then for the superb and believable acting of the golden gem Eva Marcille, who has given us glimpses of her greatness on reality shows America’s Next Top Model and The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and television series The Young and the Restless and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Approach with caution, however. There’s a bunch of nudity, vulgar language, and triggering scenarios that are anything but PG-13, so be prepared to enter a brutally raw world.
The 10-episode series has already aired in its entirety on BET+ and remains available on the Viacom streaming platform for those who missed out on its Sept. 9 premiere date.
While Tyler Perry directed most of the episodes in season one, Kim Fields guest directed one of the episodes. Joseph K.P. Simmons also penned the script for the series, co-writing with Keyes. Longtime Tyler Perry associate Michelle Sneed executive produces, alongside Perry and Keyes.
Binge watch all of the episodes of ATQM on BET+ located on Prime Video where a 7-day free trial is currently available.
