She Has No Filter: ‘Breakfast Club’ Caller Goes In On Charlamagne, Cardi B, And Rapsody In Savage Roast

No one was prepared for what occurred on Thursday’s “Slander The Breakfast Club!” During the Power 105.1 segment, where listeners can call into the station to express how they feel about the morning trio, Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee, an unidentified caller did the most in an amusing, unfiltered rant specifically targeting Charlamagne and his favorite rappers.

“Charlamagne, I just feel bad for the college educated people in the room,” she said. “They’re probably getting dumber and dumber by the day.”

“You need to go to college,” she continued. “You be saying some real stupid stuff and I can only assume it’s because you were a No Child Left Behind, one of those kids, that got passed through school your whole life.”

The roasting did not stop there. For years, DJ Envy and Angela Yee, who both obtained Bachelor degrees, went back and forth with Charlamagne about the value of college. He admitted that it seemed pointless to go to college given that he was in the same position as his co-workers without it. Ironically, in May 2021, the HBCU South Carolina State University presented the radio personality with an honorary Ph.D., shutting down all of Charlamagne’s critics…well, except for this caller.

“You need to go to college, you just need to go ahead and do it — and I’m not talking about one of those honorary degrees,” she said. “You need to go sit in a classroom.”

Charlamagne had his own rebuttal to the suggestion.

“Well, I’m a New York Times Bestselling author, two times over, ok,” said Charlamagne. “And I have an honorary degree from South Carolina State University.”

“You don’t need no honorary degree. You need a real degree,” she said.

“For what? I’m doing better than you!” Charlamagne retorted.

The caller didn’t stop there. In the funny call, she accused The Breakfast Club of “hyping up trash” artists, such as Cardi B. When Charlamagne tried to defend himself by saying he has talked about lyrical titan Rhapsody, she responded, “Rapsody’s boring.”

Needless to say, the call was highly entertaining and worth the four minutes of life wasted on it. The caller should really consider going into comedy. As for Charlamagne, the best thing to do is to keep working and say what we like to say in the South as a shady riposte, “Bless her heart!”
