If you were a fan of the R.L. Stine book franchise, then your childhood nightmares have finally manifested. In an epic move by the company known as the Disney of streaming (coined by The MouthSoap’s Betty Bema), Netflix is dropping three teen horror flicks as a part of the Fear Street Trilogy series based on R.L. Stine’s best-selling books.
Netflix’s three-part streaming event will start on July 2 with Fear Street Part One: 1994, followed by Fear Street Part Two: 1978 on July 9, and Fear Street Part Three: 1666 on July 16. The trilogy will follow a group of teens that discover horrifying secrets about the town they live in, Shadyside, after a series of terrifying events occur.
All three installments are directed by Ohio-native Leigh Janiak, and written by Phil Graziadei, Janiak, and Stine. The Chernin Entertainment series is a dream come true for ’80s babies who have read each book with the most vivid of imaginations from front to back. Good thing Netflix picked it up!
