If you’re a fan of Eddie Murphy films or the 1988 pic Coming To America, then you definitely have watched the sequel Coming 2 America by now.
From start to finish, the sequel gave us much to talk about. For instance, surprisingly, Leslie Jones character wasn’t as over the top as the trailer made it seem. Or the fact that Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall appear to have discovered the fountain of youth. Then, there’s the marvelous performances of OGs James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman who have entertained us over the years with their godly, authoritative voices.
The Pabulum Partners, Betty Bema & Gloria Altonnia, came together to review the sequel of one of their favorite movies of all time. Warning — there’s many spoiler alerts, so if you have not seen the film, we highly suggest you check it out on Amazon Prime before you watch our review. That way you will understand why we think that Wesley Snipes stole the show and how the witch doctor watered down the cinematic appeal of the film.
Overall, the film was entertaining and shot beautifully. Also, we can’t forget that the cast was lit with talented actors and comedians that included unforgettable cameos of Rotimi from Power, a crazy Michael Blackson, and the adorably real Luenell.
The celebrity reunion was a gift and curse, but not even the overload of celebs could catapult the cautiously funny storyline. It’s okay, though. We still love this contribution to the world of arts and hold Eddie Murphy’s talent in high esteem.
