Naturi Naughton And Eve To Play Members Of Hip Hop Group In ABC Series ‘Queens’

Music artists turned actors Naturi Naughton and Eve are joining together for a new ABC series called Queens. Written and executive produced by Zahir McGhee (Scandal), Queens follows the four members of ’90s hip hop group Nasty Bitches. Naughton plays the role of Jill and Eve plays Brianna.

Centered on Jill, the complex character has a storied past where she was once referred to as Da Thrill and had an addiction to drugs. After the demise of the group, Jill settled as a married woman in Montana.

Now in their 40s, the ladies attempt to revive the group despite their new lives. The show is expected to be an hourlong on the network. Sabrina Wind (Devious Maids) joins as executive producer of the ABC Signature drama series.

Naughton has built a successful acting portfolio since her days as one-third of the singing group 3LW. Fresh off of the popular Starz series Power and Power Book II: Ghost, Naughton starred as Lil Kim in Notorious, and had roles in Lottery Ticket, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Let’s Stay Together, and Queen of the South.

Eve has also enjoyed success in the acting world, starring in Barbershop, xXx, Jane the Virgin, Empire and her namesake TV series Eve.
