The saga of the alleged Megan Thee Stallion shooting continues into the new year with the release of a recorded Clubhouse discussion between fans and music artist Tory Lanez.
In a clip released by popular upcoming YouTube channel GossipGirl XOXO, hosted by the entertaining Ms. Gigi, Lanez decided to sit in on a chat on the audio-based platform and address all questions concerning allegations of him mistreating women and using the horrendous incident that occurred last summer as a means of self-promotion.
Fans and critics did not filter themselves as they posed their concerns to the star in a mostly cordial conversation that provided great insight into the choices Lanez made in the aftermath of the shooting that left Megan Thee Stallion with a foot injury.
One Clubhouse speaker appeared to be infuriated by Lanez not taking full accountability for his alleged actions, while another claimed he was gaslighting and displaying attributes of a narcissist. Another speaker felt like Lanez was misleading fans by creating false narratives and hypothetical situations, but not directly addressing the issue at hand.
Lanez responses were very diplomatic, as he patiently listened to everyone voice their concerns. He attributed most of his silence over the last few months to the council of his attorney.
Lanez still maintains that the story spun in the media in which it is being alleged that he intentionally shot Megan is not how the incident occurred.
“There has been times I have been insensitive, I did own up to it,” Lanez said in response to one Clubhouse speaker. “Sometimes, I feel like there’s — I guess there’s just a lack of what’s seen as far as emotion from me because, I guess, how I handle things…”
Lanez continued, “I felt like at a point my back was to the wall and I wasn’t able to go online and say certain things because saying I’m innocent wasn’t enough at a certain point.”
The latest headlines are questioning DaBaby’s decision to collaborate on a song with Lanez after he worked with Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez made the announcement on Instagram, tagging in the caption #2021umbrella and telling fans the song and visual are on the way.
Megan responded to one Twitter user who notified her of the collaboration, “That shit was old and not cleared.” Then, she proceeded to promote an upcoming music video for her single “Cry Baby.”
Despite the hit to his music career, Lanez has “faith on what the outcome is going to be,” leaving some fans to question whether the whole incident was a planned plot to propel careers to a heightened status in a land where all publicity is good publicity. But, that would be ludicrous.
Lanez is expected to appear in court later in January.
