That Time When Beyoncé Discussed How Challenging It Can Be To Find A Partner When You’re A Boss

Beyoncé recently made headlines when she shared a 2020 highlight reel with previously unreleased footage of her beautiful family. The 4-minute clip showed the global star giving back to her hometown Houston during the COVID-19 pandemic, announcing her partnership with Disney for The Lion King, collaborating with Megan Thee Stallion for the Billboard-charting “Savage,” releasing a new seasonal collection for Ivy Park, and more.

After all this time, Beyoncé still is the gold standard for the modern business woman that has it all. But, this isn’t new to the singing phenomenon. In a throwback interview, the “Better” singer revealed how difficult it could be to date and find a partner when you’re busy bossing up in life. Not only are the interactions reduced because time is a precious commodity, but most likely, the best and only way to meet someone is through the reference of friends and family or in a work capacity.

“I’m never anywhere for a long period of time, except on movies,” Beyoncé said in the throwback interview.

The entertainer’s lifestyle can be a whirlwind with so many obligations lined up, especially when the obligations are across continents.

“Where would I meet guys?” Beyoncé continued. “You know, I don’t go out. If I do go out, no one is going to get to me, there’s all these security people and you know, you go to award shows you meet people and you say hello. You go work, you do the red carpet, you do that, you go home. It’s just very hard.”

That solves the question that many fans have when they ponder why celebrities date the same people as their peers or people they work with — again, something that is justified by the time constraints and hard demands of the business.

Even with these realities, Beyoncé still had faith that she could meet someone, although she was also aware that there were plenty of contenders that she would have to pull the Pharcyde on and pass ’em by.

“People do sometimes, you know, slip you their numbers, but you don’t know them so you’re not going to call them — and if you do call them, sometimes they’re crazy or weird or you don’t trust them,” she said. “It’s not easy…”

Today, she has blossomed into the wife of Sean “Jay-Z” Carter and the mother of three beautiful children. If it can work out for her, maybe it’ll work out for you!!
