Issa Rae and Alicia Keys are the latest celebrity instructors to be added to a new campaign for the inspiring MasterClass series. The streaming platform launched the campaign “The World Could Use One Of You” on Monday, Nov. 16.
Directed by famed artist Jenn Nkiru known for her work on Beyoncé’s visual album Black Is King, the film series also features the narration of Neil deGrasse Tyson in You & The Universe. “If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that we have so much to learn from each other,” MasterClass CMO David Schriber said.
“The MasterClass platform is rooted in self-empowerment through learning, so we owe it to ourselves to share our voices and take action with courage. As we wrap a year unlike any other, we wanted ‘The World Could Use One of You’ to inspire people to be their best selves in service of each other.”
Issa Rae will lend her voice to the narration of film Mirror Affirmations, an in-depth conversation about representation in culture. Rae will encourage people to become the change they desire by enlisting themselves to be that representation that is lacking.
Your Words Create Your World will feature Alicia Keys, who will remind “people of the power we all have to shape our world through every word we think, say, write or sing.
Anomaly LA developed the campaign for the subscription-based streaming platform. MasterClass, launched in 2015, provides 10-minute courses, totaling 20 video lessons, from experts in a variety of fields, including entertainment, business, sports, and gaming, to name a few.
