MTV released a classic clip of powerhouse entertainers Aaliyah, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim and Da Brat sharing the same music video set in 1999. In the clip, the beautiful ladies are seen prepping for an Elle Magazine shoot and dancing alongside each other.
The stars also sat down for a behind the scenes interview where they discussed hip hop’s impact on fashion, culture and the new group of upcoming female rappers.
“I’ve never seen so many female rappers,” said Lil Kim, rocking blonde tresses and a jean outfit.
“We got muscles now, and to me, it just makes us stronger,” Da Brat responded. “It’s a gang of new artists that sound like us, but we ain’t tripping. We know who we are.”
Aaliyah looked beautiful as ever, rocking her signature bone straight hair. Missy Elliott was her cheery self, bringing a lot of joy to the set. All four women had great input during their discourse.
