The first day of the 2020 REVOLT Summit x AT&T took place on Friday, Oct. 23. Hosted by rapper and USC alumni Saweetie and rising hip hop and R&B star Danileigh, the three-day event will consist of a series of panels, masterclasses and workshops all for the great price of free! Here’s a breakdown of what to expect.
The Panels
Day 1 started off with The Verzuz Effect, a panel discussion on the development and implementation of the popular music-based Instagram live show that celebrates the legacy of music. The panel consisted of Verzuz TV founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, along with Larry Jackson, Fadia Kader, Heather Lowery and Ingrid Best.
The Verzuz Effect was followed by Navigating 2020, a discussion on how to adapt and evolve with the times. The panel was hosted by Jemele Hill and featured Nascar driver Bubba Wallace, social media influencer Justin Laboy, and rapper Super Duper Kyle.
Bryan Barber and 2 Chainz had a virtual conversation about HBCUs and how the concept of “Money Maker” developed in their segment Behind The Project: Making Of Money Maker.
Tyga and Dre London conducted the panel titled Making A Millionaire where the two revealed their strategies for sustaining a career by managing a good team and diversifying their investments via brand deals to manifest multiple streams of income.

The following days of the summit will include the panels Hip-Hop As A Platform To Build The Future with Hebru Brantley, Baron Davis, T-Pain, The Game, Iddris Sadue, and Jewel Burks Soloman on Oct. 24, BLK Creative Braintrust featuring Knowledge Bennett and Kwasi Fordjour on Oct. 24, Vote or Die with DeRay Mckesson, Jeff Johnson, Killer Mike and Van Lathan on Oct. 25, and Reform with Brittney Barnett, Van Lathan, Corey Jacobs, Dascha Polanco and Houston’s own Trae The Truth on Oct. 25.
The Masterclasses
One of the most powerful masterclasses, Using Creativity To Shatter Tradition, occurred when legendary rappers Busta Rhymes and T.I. sat down to discuss career longevity and staying relevant in today’s rap game.
The two have both been in the news recently regarding a defunct idea to do a Verzuz battle when T.I. turned the challenge down because he felt that there was a “huge generational gap” between the rappers. Busta Rhymes and T.I. buried the lighthearted hatchet, however, during the REVOLT Summit masterclass. In fact, the pairing of the two couldn’t be more better.
Some of the advice they gave included being your own number one believer, knowing that you’ll have to endure sacrifices, and consistently working hard at being good at your craft.

Masterclasses will commence again on Saturday, Oct. 24 with a segment called Sky’s The Limit, led by Da Baby and Arnold Taylor.
The Workshops
There will be several workshops offered throughout the three-day event. The workshops will address everything from fashion to politics.
On the schedule, virtual attendees will have access to workshops, The Cost of High Fashion featuring Jason Bolden, Dapper Dan and Laquan Smith on Oct. 24, Strength in Numbers with Master P and Steve Stout on Oct. 24, Mind Games featuring G Herbo, Mario and Dr. Jess on Oct. 25, and Political Prep: 1010 with Reason, Tezlyn, and Guapdad on Oct. 25.
REVOLT Summit x AT&T will also be riddled with bonus content from a variety of movers and shakers, such as DJ Envy’s “Investing in Yourself by Investing in the Market” as a part of The World Is Yours session.
Normally, the summit takes place in multiple cities where people have access to live performances, networking events, and exclusive access to REVOLT TV show tapings. This year, the Summit is being offered online for free due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The REVOLT Summit x AT&T event is sponsored by AT&T, CÎROC, Hyundai, McDonald’s and Target.
